Craigie Redevelopment

In April 2018, Joondalup Council progressed the first stage of a $2.7 million redevelopment of the City of Joondalup Leisure Centre - Craigie to a detailed design and tender stage.

What exactly does this mean?

The approval by Council means that the project can now progress to have detailed designs of the proposed facility changes developed. Once the designs are finalised, the City will enter the tender stage to appoint a Contractor to commence and undertake construction.

Which areas of the facility will be redeveloped?

The refurbishment will include an extension of the current gym and new indoor group fitness and cycling areas. The actual design and location of the gym, group fitness and cycling areas will be determined in the detailed design stage.

When will construction commence?

Construction is likely to commence in late 2019.

Can members and customers contribute their feedback?

Community consultation for the project was conducted in 2016. The information obtained from residents and ratepayers during the consultation process will contribute to the detailed design phase.

How can members and customers stay up to date with the latest information?

Project updates will be communicated to members as the project progresses. Meanwhile, stay up to date with all the latest news and events at the Leisure Centres by subscribing to Leisure Online.
